Alan's Adventure
Stayed in the Hangout Hostel, which was a really nice place but a bit too quiet. I was expecting it to be bustling with people up for it, but theres a real laid back feeling about the place. Saying that though, i've met some great people from the hostel, and they've made my stay in the city.
I've been on an open top bus tour, explored Little India and Chinatown (the food stalls are amazing, nothing like Chinese food i've had before), been on the Night Safari, checked out the malls in Orchard Road (BlueWater in the UK is dwarfed by the malls/plaza's in Singapore, they are simply huge), checked out the nightlife and had my wallet significantly lightened by the expensive beer - but had a good time anyway.
Guys, if you like Asian girls, go to Orchard Plaza at night and brave the escillator to the upper floors - you'll see what i mean if you do it.
Wanted to go to Sentosa Island, lots of the people i met said it was great, but i ran out of time.
I think 3 days here is just about right to sample everything, anymore would have been too much for me. Eat cheaply at any foodcourt, for meals i hear the resturants at Clarke/Boat Quay are good too, and go to Raffles hotel if only for the free peanuts!
