We began today in Zurich, but are ending it in Lucerne. Because the drive was long - though the scenery was spectacular - our tour guide gave us a mini Swiss history lesson. Of course, we thought of Clint the whole time - Mr. History Buff Man, and Kris - the gal who can keep up with him on all that!
The Swiss enjoy a very high-standard quality of life; there is very little poverty (even in the smallest towns). It's a different vibe to a locale when that is the case.
We started out today in Zurich - just had time to stop in to a famous choclatier, one that a friend told us not to miss. The first photo upload today is from the inside of that shop. What a treasure!
Then we began the drive to Lucerne - with a stop in a medieval village for an orange marmalade pastry and REAL Swiss hot chocolate. Mmmn! And believe me, there wasn't a fake Miss in sight!
We finished the trip to the city of Lucerne via boat - and what a way to arrive! Even with the overcast skies and drizzly air, the views were incredible.
Tonight we walked to the old city - across a 700-year old wooden bridge - and had the best dinner we've had so far: Art had a brautworse and Kobbie had pasta with grueyere, cream, and onions - another mmmn for the day!!
We're calling it an early night - but are excited about tomorrow...
