Kayaking at Abel Tasman...!

From Kaikoura we drove up to Takaka, next to Abel Tasman National Park and decided to hire a kayak for two days! We hired some camping gear as well [tent, sleepingbags, cooker etc] and planned to do some camping for one night in the area!

Abel Tasman is really pretty and it was amazing to come so close to nature and all the sea creatures... We saw a cute penguin for example, and the little fellow came swimming and diving right next to our kayak!
When it was time for us to put up the tent, we noticed that some essential parts were missing -so we had to build our own little tipi from sticks to keep the tent up and together! It was a bit wobbly, but it was okay shelter for one night! Then we just relaxed on the beach drinking red wine and eating brie cheese!

No we are in Nelson to get some things for dinner and then moving on to Picton. We are taking the ferry over to Wellington tomorrow! Then our adventure on the north island begins... There we will also meet up with Krista and Ansku again!
