Ensikosketus Etela-Amerikkaan!

The day before yesterday we arrived, after a 10 1/2 hour flight, in Santiago! Tired and really jetlagged we found our way to our hostel, took a power nap and then explored the city center. We got dragged into a street show and participated in some weird street theater performance in SPANISH! That was quite an experience (really funny!)...

The hostel is in a really good area, the university area - a short 8 blocks to the city center! Not too close and not too far from the hustle and bustle of the big main streets.

Yesterday we went up to San Christobal and had a look at Virgin Mary (see picture) and had quite the view over the city... Well, there would have been a view if all the smoke and pollution would be gone... In the evening we had some pisco sours with a local Chilean guy and a few guys from our hostel. Turns out one couple is probably going to do the Inca-trail and Amazon adventure the same time with us - mika yhteensattuma!!

Today we are flying to Rio de Janeiro! Really looking forward to Brazil! The South American atmosphere and attitude are slowly penetrating our senses and we are really LIKING IT!
