Arriving in Jodhpur felt like a relief (to be out of Delhi) and journey by tuk tuk to Bristows showed the city is vibrant with life and colour, hustle and bustle but not seeming to be at the same fast aggressive pace of Delhi. Bristows is a wonder guesthouse with a very hospitable and helpful Phil, so I relaxed and soaked up the atmosphere.
I planned to stay a few days in Jodhpur but then I got chatting to Anita and Holger and decided to join them on a trip to Jaisalmer on the public bus to do a camel safari and see the fort. Oh the public bus was a very interesting experience, the people along the way I had expected what I hadn't expected was the constant horn of the bus to notify people of arrival as well as getting people to move out the way, a driver who had what seemed to have great spit projection out of the window at least every 20 mins or the worst toilet experience so far!
The camel safari started out about 9 am and by 10 am we were all wondering why we had opted for this for 1 and half days. It was a relaxing experience and we saw a lovely sunset and enjoyed some beers over dinner and laughter before hitting the sack. Unlike my trip to Africa we didn't have to cook ourselves and had beds to sleep on under the stars…no dodgy scorpions is all I am saying! It wasn't the most peaceful night sleep but thankfully the dog in the team did a fantastic job fighting and chasing off dogs trying to get into our camp area.
I am surprised at the extent of the problem here with wild dogs, the cities I have stayed in seem to echoes the cries of dogs barking and fighting into the night.

Dad Nice read, found your report fascinating! Photos excellent I have again copied as before.
Nancy Hi my lovely! I'm really enjoying reading your updates - sounds like you're having a fab time. I think of you every day "I wonder what Mandy's up to now?!!" All is fine here in Devon, just busy as usual! My parties are still going great - quite a few still to come this month. Have also finally potty trained Jessica! There were a couple of difficult days but she's cracked it now! The girls are already getting excited for Christmas - there are adverts on tv now and they talk about it at school. I have to admit, even thought its still mid-November I think it's sweet - we put on some xmas music yesterday and had a mini-disco!! Anyway, we all send our love and look forward to reading your next update. Lots of love Nancy xxxxxxxx
