OK so here goes,
Quin set the tone for the rest of our journey in HEATHROW...he said "i don't know if im cut out for this travelling stuff" We hadnt even left the UK and he had done too much travelling. We survived the trip though to make it to the crazy city that is Bangkok.
We are here little over 24 hours here but have seen a lot of things to allow us to move on swiftly. We slept a lot last night just to get us over our 8000mile journey, and to give us the energy to go and tackel a bit of the city.
As we were looking at the worng map we were taken aside by a thai man who we thought was just another person trying to get us to pay for their service but it turned out to be a nice police man who took us into the station, warned us about the scams told us to go to a legit travel agent and taught us a few thai sayings. He also got us a Tuk tuk for our penance. It was so scary it was funny. It can only be described as a go cart with a roof and enough room for 2/3 people. That was the ok part it was the driver that scared the living crap out of us for the first part of the journey until we started to enjoy nearly getting hit by every other vehicle in the 6 lanes of traffic, I laughed on it earlier saying that he had uncle seans driving philosophy "back away to you hear a bang".
Anyway we made it back safe after seeing a solid gold buddha, a 40foot buddah, the palace and booking our next week in the legit travel agents. A personal taxi driver for for less than a pound.
So we are off tomorrow to see the bridge over the river kwai and then to chang mai...as soon as we remember o bring the camera lead to one of these places then ill get those photos up!
