We'll what a lovely time we're having! Many nights of balcony and chatting/ me and Lucy have gone wedding crazy - can't believe it's 10 weeks until she's we'd!
As Friday is a holy day for the Arabs for the expats it's a day of winding down after the long week at work with brunch.
All you can eat all u can drink. It was never going to end we'll! There we're too many drinks too many cigars and way too much fun had. I threw up in Lucy's sink and fell over 40 times.
Day after everyone was very tender so we just headed down jbr for a walk and had a "curry" on the night. Marts Been craving a English red tikka masala for a year...they have the Brit balti here. It was phenomenal!
Day after consisted of burning at the pool and as it was mine an marts 4 year anniversary/we didn't kill each other travelling celebration we went to the Meydan hotel to prime steakhouse...wow!! It now comes in at number 1 or 2 in our world steak list!
Even just the restaurant was beautiful huge throne chairs and grand pianos. They kept giving us free stuff... Free starter free bread free soup. Amazingggg steak! You even had to come over and choose your steak knife- Japanese or a variety of French.. Then a cake that said happy anniversary and a toes for me!
I've finally learnt to love red wine with steak. Even just the hotel itself was amazing had a view of the Dubai skyline with the burj kalifa sticking out in the middle..definitely our sort of place! We went to a bar after to watch some of the football..which was on the other side of the hotel which they call a buggy to come and take you - got a nice tour of the Meydan racecourse!
Me Lucy Ben and bens boss jay on the beachfront for a drink or 2 before heading home.
Following day was pool and then a lovely meal out at wagamamas- I went for the firecracker as I like my spice. All good wasn't hot enough for me so I ate one of the massive red dried chillis in the dish. Literally the hottest thing I've ever tasted. I was crying and nose was running burnt my tounge mart had one at the same time and was nearly choking. Safe to say I didn't eat anymore of those.
Things got a little messy when we headed to the bar next door and it ended up with bens boss had us all doing pomegranate vodka shots and after a few bottles of wine we we're playing blackjack on the balcony much fun.
Lucy drove us to the Atlantis to have a nose around and we found the cold stone Ice-cream shop...wow wow wow not only is the ice-cream out of this world I've never been in a place like it the shop was like a show. When they make your Ice creams they juggle them and flip them catch them in cones- it's very fun to watch! Outside they have a gold vending machine- you can buy gold bars and necklaces ranging from £200-1000 just like you'd buy coke!
I developed a nasty kidney infection to the point I was struggling to get out of bed..paracetamol wasn't cutting it anymore thought I was going to have to make an emergency trip to the doctors (typical it being our final week) but Lucy informed me they'll sell anything over the counter here. So they sold me the antibiotics I needed with no questions asked phew!
Spent a night in downtown Dubai at the mall. What a bloody place - female heaven!!
So we started off walking through the indoor theme park - in the mall?? We then passed the ice skating rink and watched a game of ice hockey. We then headed to cheese cake factory where we met Tammy. Had a lovely meal (big massive American style-had doggy bags). We then saw the gigantic fish tank the mall is so famous for! Amazing that they just put that there was cool to look at though. They also had a random dinosaur skeleton?
Spent some time admiring all the shops taking particular time to spend outside the Christian louboutin window. We then headed outside to sit under the burj kalefia unreal how gigantic that building is, even the skyscrapers look tiny. And then the fountains happened...unsure of what we we're to expect- we knew they we're done by the same people as the bellagio fountains in Vegas and we've seen the Macau fountains so wasn't sure if the Dubai fountains would impress. Safe to say they blew all the others out the water. The song time to say goodbye Was on which made it extra special and they we're just fantastic. When they all went off at the same time it was like a massive firework display. Couldn't help but clap at the end! Perfect evening :)
Me and Lucy decided we needed a pamper day brought a deal from cobone (Dubai groupon) had our hair dyed, washed, cut, blow dried, nails and toes painted, face mask, eyebrows threaded and a neck and shoulder massage for £12!!!!! Madness. So spent the whole day at the salon before Lucy spent 4 hours cooking the most amazing meal and watching films. Be very very sad to see this place go..more than anything else I'll miss seeing Lucy so much! Had a few teary moments these last few days- unreal that it's all over.
