Today we got the boat back to the bigger boat to set off towards coral view. I had my first ever experience of sea sickness. I'd been reading my kindle and the weather has taken a turn for the worst cloudy and the sea is very choppy so the boat was going up and down. Nearly vommed everywhere. Said goodbye to jonny and sarah - swapped facebooks so we can keep in touch.
I was a little nervous about coral view as we'd heard the beach wasn't nice but as always when we arrived we arrived to a song and a small pretty beach- obviously a lot of coral around hense the name. But here is the start of the blue lagoon so the sea is an incredible colour! The weathers not been great today quite windy but there's hammocks you can lie in that are just above the sea which is pretty nice. We took a nap on one for a while! We have proper electricity here which is nice seems like a more modern bigger resort here. There's a short walk through a mini jungle which takes you to a beach about a 15 minute walk an its amazing! Self sustaining island here so lots of plants and crops growing. Little hut they've given us is delightful filled with flowers! If the weathers bad again tomorrow we've decided upon a day of snorkelling.
Spent today mostly on a hammock with a Fiji playlist of music.
This evening after an incredible tea-we had seconds they invited us to join the cava ceremony.
There's a wicken mat on the floor everyone sits crossed legged around the cava bowl..they have a string which points to the chief (Patel) and on his right is his spokes person which was mart. They taught us the meanin behind it all..you clap a certain way once then accept the coconut bowl filled with cava (cava is a root which is ground into a powder and then sivved through a cloth with water added-it tastes like dirt!) down in one after saying bula (meaning life) and everyone else claps 3 times. It goes around the circle. Cava is meant to make you "mellow and dope" all the locals played the guitars and sang all night and drank cava with us! Wonderful!
Today was beyond hot. Both the colours of lobsters despite putting factor 50 on. Proper lazy day.
Blue lagoon tomorrow :D
