Bula from Fiji. <---this means hello
What a place!! When you arrive at the airport no matter what the time is they greet you with smiles.
Me and mart slept so well on the plane about 6 hours and he ate a plane meal...step forward!
As the pilot said we have gone from the land of the free 5000 miles to the land with a thousand smiles... He described Fiji as a place where happiness finds you!
The boat over was a little stressful picking which islands and trying to match their availability was quite hard! But we manage to sort it and somehow they ended up going from us paying $44 to giving us an extra €62fjd to spent? Not sure how I worked that!
We chose to stay on whay lailai island the boat drops you off in the middle of the sea and a tiny boat takes you nearly to shore. Locals come out and greet you with smiles a song ukalali and a big shout of "BULA". It's exactly what you'd expect Fiji to be. Paradise. Me and mart lay on the beach earlier an were the only ones on there. Mental! Water is crustal clear and the sand is white an soft staying in a little beach hut to ourself an hammocks are near by. Beer is 6fjd. Mart made mates with the bar man Paul and they'd swapped life stories within 5 minutes of arriving. Worked out a very weird island hop..the boats only come once a day at certain times. Made friends with a couple from rugby so will sit on the beach and drink with them later!! Had one of our "5 minutes" sat on the beach with a drink just appreciating where we are and what we Are doing. Much like the Grand Canyon it doesn't seem real what your looking at. We spent the night playing cards eating their amazing food and doing the bula dance-much fun. Second day on whay lailai we spent doing sweet fa. We went from the hammock to the sand to the sea back to the hammock. Marts happy that my kindle is keeping me firmly planted on the beach. Even if I have read 3 books in 2 days.
The only have electricity here from 5-11 and I had a freezing cold shower yesterday so waiting for the electricity to start again today before I try that again! Up early tomorrow to catch the next boat to coral view island for our next stop and some snorkelling.
