World wide ramble
kenya's swahili coast has proven to be the perfect introduction to africa. the pace of life crawls by down here below the equator & the strange stars above me seem to mirror the unfamiliar ways of the local people. though the beaches & reefs here may not be as lush as the carribean their accesability & the friendly people found here make it easy to let day after day slip away under the palm trees. the no-car (donkeys only) island of lamu holds a great locals only (almost) club, perfect for dancing the night away to swahili reggae. rasta capatains of primitive boats perpetually vie for your business as they attempt to lure you to even remoter islands. we made our way to 1 of those islands with no running water & electricity. we might as well have travelled there by time machine... & now we will head up country to the great rift valley & to kenya's far shore on lake victoria. hakuna haraka, rob
