Ok arrived in Brisbane on the 22-01-07 with Steve and Tone settle into Cloud 9 backpackers, Roma Street. Hostel seemed ok, not the nicest i have seen but to be fair i have only stayed in the wizard in Sydney so didnt really have a lot to go by...
Anyway we booked into a 4 dorm with Aircon woohoo!! no more waking up at 6am boling our asses off, in a tent......
Room small but had a kinda en suit shared with the dorm next door. So we all got settled that night and were in bed by like 8pm shattered. But to be fair the boys did to a night shift at the big day out festival so they did need their sleep.
We left Chris in Surfers today as he got a chef job in an italian restarant, bit s*** leaving him behind but we were all in the same boat of whatever job we got we would take.
More or less as soon as we arrived in the hostel we bumped into miss Ashley. A lot sooner than we both thought we would see each other again. but we had a good catch up and was lovely to see her. She is off with her mum and Lesley at the mo, they spent a few days in Brisy then went down to Sydney.

Ok so loved the air con when we first arrived until i woke up in the middle of the night feeling like i was in the artic circle, ended up putting on socks, my jeans and hoodie and still had my nighty on underneath... LOL!! So pretty much for the next 2 wks i did the same, Boys didnt feel the cold so aircon stayed on!!lol
Finally got my nursing registration sorted for Queensland $137 later and i was now officially allowed to work, phoned my nursing agency and had work lined up for me pretty much straight away. woohoo! NO more living on beans on toast or dry bread if i was really skint!!

We all decided it would be best to sell 'Jack' our car as we would probably all head our seperate ways in a few wks so luckly the first folk that called re:Jack bought him for same as we paid for him. so quick sale, sad to say by to my first car tho... even tho i almost crashed him on a good few occasions..... oh actually i did actually crash him into a wall in a car park. but lets keep that one quiet....

Australia Day would have been an awseome day i would have thought but unfortunatly or mayb e not so unfortunate i managed to get work. And a brilliant pay! so i was extatic..... but did miss out on the day!! and apparently cockroach races in brisbane (gutted i missed that show)

Following day me, ashley and the 2 scottish boys she met in Bundy headed for a bit of a touristy day around brisbane. 5-6km walk around the city/art gallary/botanical gardens/University's. Was actually a really interesting day and kept us amused for free!!!! lots of pics that day...

Karen arrived on the 29th Jan (Girl from Coogee) Moved into our room. Was brilliant to catch up with her and also to have a girl around...Good laugh that wk, Ended up getting my lip pierced!! Its cool but it was quite attractive for the first few hours looking like i had been punched in face!!! Anyway, Chris came up for the night on the wed and we all headed out in brisbane. went to Tin Billy's for a few pretty cool place (Also a backpackers) Luckly arrived within 3mins before the happy hour ended so me and chris took full advantage and went for the $5 jugs!! karen and steve stuck to the spirits (prob a wise choice as miss ailie found out later)
Headed then to Down under bar. Ace bar quite small place tho. but we all managed to get absolutly wreaked on a mixture of shots, spirits and BEER!!! god i was absolutly b*****ed. and on the way home found myself vomiting down a drain with Karen holding my hair back and chris getting me a bottle of water!! oh the embarassment... got back to the hostel and went up to the roof top with everyone, however a bag of crisps later and i was def ready for my bed!!
Needless to say i found it very difficult to move the following day!! but everyone was sort of in the same boat!! so didnt feel so bad! Oh and also lost my purse that night!! Ended up leavin in in the Survo garage. Cancelled all my cards only to find that the kind survo guy handed it into the hostel what a darlin...

Moved to Palace Backpackers today. Felt it was a lot closer to work for me and to be fair a much nicer hostel.. A lot bigger but facillaties nicer. In a 6 dorm room, Guys in my room seem lovely. Girl called Tessa from Norway! Also travelling on her own, Good laugh, night out with her, steve,tone and Lizzie last wk in Downunder bar again! Messy night. but good. Ended up meeting a guy from Inverness -such a small world (but it was really good to hear the inverness accent again) didnt think i would miss that one!! Anyway guys thats really me up to date so far. Just working away (thats when the agency dont cancel my shifts) so annoying!! and trying to live quietly until i head up the coast.
