Well its been another fairly quiet week. I have 3 weeks until exams - in fact its 4 weeks on Thursday until I am flying home. i have booked my flights home arriving on the 21st December and leaving again on the 3rd january.
The one bit of excitement this week has been the Christmas parade. Well it was called a holiday parade! There were thousands of people out in Chicago lining the streets to see the parade and the lights switching on. We stood about for ages waiting but it was really nice and really relaxing just to completely switch off from studying. They had fireworks as well right in the middle of the city over the lake. It was so loud and the sound reflected off the buildings making it sound twice as impressive!
Amanda and I went to a really nice chocolate cafe afterwards which was great because it was so cold and wet.
In fact the weather has changed dramatically, with the temperature dropping and fog settling heavily over the city. At some points in time it is hard to see more than a block in front of you! It has caused huge traffic delays as this is the run up to Thanksgiving. In fact they are predicting snow tomorrow so we could have some fun getting out of the city.
Aoife and I are heading to Wisconsin with our next door neighbour Kate to stay with her and her family. We are so excited! They are predicting snow and the Americans keep laughing at us but they just dont understand we dont really get snow at home in the same way they do here!
Hope all is well at home! happy Thanksgiving!!
