Western Australia is alot different to the South Island, first thing you notice is the heat and apparently its quite cool!? On Sunday 5th we woke up with a slight hangover after a quality night in Queenie. Ended up hitting a Drum & Base club for a bit. It was raining and How was hoping that his Canyoning was cancelled as he didn't feel like jumping off 10ft rocks into 4 degrees water with a hang over. But 'luckily' for him the clouds cleared and he went canyoning. I just chilled most of the day cruising round town. Late afternoon we set off for Dunedin, about 3 hours away. After 1 and half noticed the fuel was pretty low and waited for the next petrol station. Non were open and the 24 hour stops didn't accept my card so ended up parking up and sleeping on the side of road in town. In morning we re-fuelled and headed for oamaru via Dunedin. In Dunedin we stopped for about 5 mins to check the surf. The water was bout same temperature as Cornwall in October so no too bad. The waves were not all that but you could tell Dunedin could be proper good on its day. Now Dunedin is a pretty big town and the chances of bumping into the Dutch girls again was very slim, but by pure coincidence we did, a complete fluke. I was kinda hoping after this encounter that we wouldn't bump into them again as it would look like we were stalking them. It was cool though, we had a drink before carrying on the drive to Oamaru. Oamaru is the place to see the small blue and yellow eyed penguins. To see the Blue eyed Penguins you have to pay 10 quid and you can;t even take photos. We thought that was pretty s***ty so we drove down the road where you can see the yellow eyed Penguins for free and take photos. They were quite cool and small, just chilling on the beach trying not to get eaten by the seals while the seals were tyring not to get eaten by the sharks, Charles Darwin would have loved it. We ended up staying the night in a nice little hostel, both pretty knackered from the past week. In the morning we faffed about in the hostel before being asked to leave. Before driving the rest of the way to Christchurch we went to a supermarket and got a Muffing. The gourmet Muffins from Countdown are big and tasty. After munching it i felt pretty sick. No more Muffin for me. In Christchurch we parked up and cleared out the car. There were sum nastys found, a highlight was a Hows Book that he had finished reading about a month ago which for some strange reason had stuck together with moss and mold, minging. I never found my shoe that i thought was hiding in the car which was a bummer. In the evening we went to some family friends to pick up my passport and have a cup of tea then went to an all you can eat chinease joint and eat too much, again, and felt sick, again. In Downtown Christchurch they blare out classical music to stop teenagers hanging around the main square, it was quite comical really as it didn't work and there were just a bunch of hardnuts hanging out listening to classical music. In the morning we drop the rental car off. They seeemed not to notice the cracked protecter panel near the rear right of the car. I did this when i drove into a wall. At the airport, you'd never guess what, we bumped into the same Dutch girls again which was funny. We had a drink and then said good by for about the 4th time! and we both accepted the fact that we will probably bump into them again. The flight from Christchurch to Sydney was pretty uneventful apart from the good view of Sydney. Then Sydney to Perth, highlight being getting given an extra dinner each and beer, Qantas are now highly recommended by Howard and Ashley. In Perth we are staying with family friends, Chris and Jess, who have very kindly let us crash there for a bit until we get indo visas and coach tickets sorted out. They are currently moving house so weve been getting in there way but they are cool about the whole thing. On Thursday night we went to a brand spanking new club called Villa and raved out to Fake Blood and Sinden who are two DJs from London. A VK/Redbull was $14 dollars which is like two footlong subways which is like ridiculous as i havn't even bought a footlong subway as i thought it was too much. the budget doesn't seem to matter after a couple of beers. We are hanging around in Perth until Tuesday as we have to sort out our Indo Visas before getting a coach down to Margaret River where we are hooking up with a mate we met in Morocco. Good times ahead and canny wait to get abck in the surf to shred it up!
