G'day Mate!
Its Thursday morning here and i am back writing this blog by popular demand!
So since we last wrote...we have been having a really relaxing time. I can't believe how much i needed this break in Perth to sort our selves out after the fast paced Asia...and are we in the right place or what to chill out!
We spend three days after our arrival just chilling out...reading...watching TV...laying in bed...and of course chilling in the spa. The three days we so needed!
After our lazy session we decided to up the pace again (only slightly though) and start exploring Perth. Our first port of call was to head into the backpackers district in town and pick up a few ideas fr places to go and things to do...on the cheap basically! We went down to barrack jetty and had a drink in the lucky shag bar, which was very novel! After that we headed up town towards all the shopping areas which meant i (kirst) could have a little shopping time! It was a neecessity!
After deliberations and hearing peoples advice we decided that we would go on a winery tour for the day...and that was beautiful! We were able to try all the wines, we went to a nougat factory....and a chocolate one also! So all round an awesome day which left us feeling a little bit tipsy so we went off to Wagamamas for tea.
We have also been to Hilarys boat yard which was really really great! I really like the boat marina feeling, combined with the beach and childrens adventure part. It was really nice to sit there in the sun and to just watch the world go by! Also....we discovered wok in a box! The best restaurant idea ever!!
Next on our list was freemantle...a little town just south of Perth, and we were recommended this one by just about everyone we have met...so off we went! When we arrived we decided that we both wanted to go to the prision... It was really interesting as this is where all the british convict history was going on...also the prision was only closed in 1991. So it was a really interesting! After our prision visit we met up with Penny (someone who lee worked with and emigrated here just 6 weeks ago!) and we went to her and her husbands house for a lovely barbeque and a few drinks. It was really nice and also really strange to be half way across the world...see all these people we know! It was a lovely evening and we stayed the night!
In the morning we walked all along freo marina and through the park which was beautiful! So beautiful that i could stop taking photos of it! We had also been to the famous freo markets the day before which was really nice and they had a really nice hippy feel to them.
After returning back to stephs we decided to head out to the park to see if we coudl k'roo spot! unfortunately there were no k'roos but there were a whole load of parrots! i was wowed...and taking photos as usual and a young boy asked me if i would like some bird food to feed them... me being me (a coward) said that i would as long as he did it first! After a little persuasion i did as did lee...it was amazing! The Parrots had really sharp feet that scratched us both...but how many people get to say that they have held and hand feed wild parrots...on mass!
So we have had a really busy week...filled with adventures! I hope i havent forgot anything but if i have i will blog again!
See you soon
