Hi from the Gold Coast.
Hope you are all well...(Mum you in particular!)
On our way down from Brisbane we went to Surfers Paradise Via Zorbing! If any of you dont know what Zorbing is...its a 12ft big clear ball....you inside with 20litres of FREEZING cold water...and a big hill! Understand?! Lee has wanted to do zorbing for years at home and i have always been too much of a coward to give it a go. But on this trip i have found the daredevil in me which was lost. So we thought what the heck lets do it!
When we arrived and we saw the Zorb...I totally panicked. It looked so scary and i was not prepared for how big the hill was. It was massive. We watched the others come down and then when it was our turn...they drove us right up to the top...sprayed us down with the freezing water and we had to get in a little hole by superman-ing through. Naturally with my bust...i got stuck and had to have a little push from lee. When we were in there lee said...
"come on stand up...we will try and run down with it!"
So we both stoood up and the guy starting pushing the Zorb. In about 2 seconds we were both flat on our bums and sliding all over the show in the ball. It only lasted less than 20seconds but it was so much fun! It really was!
So we have been on the Gold Coast for about 3 days now and it's a pretty nice place. The Hostel that we are staying in is nice...a queenslander style big house...the rooms are spacious and very light and airy. It's a bit of a shame that we have the room we do though...as all the others have flat screen TVs. Gutted....we dont even have one. But the TV lounge is big enough for us.
The pool is very nice..a little chilly as its in the shade but very needed with the weather we have been having (VERY HOT! and beautiful blue skys) I think Holly took the crap weather home with her!
Yesterday we went down to the beach which is a small journey away. The beach was stunning and naturally being surfers paradise.. there were some rather sizable waves. Lee...the little kid that he is...played in the surf from the moment we got down to the beach...until we went for lunch. He really loved it! To be honest I had a great time watching him being battered and drowned in the waves.
After the beach we went for a little wander round and got lost! But we luckily made it back to the transit centre before the bus left!
Tonight we head for Byron Bay for 5 nights...which is a place which everyone either loves or hates...so we will see how we go. It is famous for the beach and is filled with backpackers who all partake in the hippy lifestyle. So we will se what happens there! Then...Sydney baby Sydney!
By the way ONLY 7 DAYS! I know! Miss you all
Lots of love Kirsty and Lee xx
