Hey Everyone
Hope all is well.
We arrived at Te Anau in the eveningas a stop over for the Milford sound which we were planning to visit the following day. When we arrived at Te Anau we were pleasantly surprised by what the little town had to offer. I can only describe this area as amazing. The village had a real ski atmosphere to it and this was helped by the fact that it was freezing. The Village backdrop was of snow covered mountains and the beautiful Lake Te Anau which ran up against them. It was a really nice feeling…it kinda felt like Christmas. After spending a night in a campsite which overlooked the Lake and mountains…we decided to stick around for another day. The Following day we headed off to Lake Manapouriwhich was 19k down the road. After arriving at the lake we decided to do a nice hour walk along the edge of the lake to a nice beach. Obviously…no swimming was involved as I'm dead sure hypothermia would set in.
We visited also a information bureau which mentioned about department of conservation campsites which are really cheap (like 5 bucks) that could be found along the Milford Road. Without hesitation…as we always like a bargain…we went for supplies and then headed out for a REAL camping adventure..
To be Continued…….
