Hey all
After our special time in christchurch, we decided we needed to head on. Before we left Christchurch, lee had been suffering with killer tooth ache. After seeing a dentist, lee discovered that actually it wasn't a tooth ache.... but Sinus problems.... (apparently can hurt the Gums!!). So armed with Drugs we left Christchurch and Headed for the Banks Peninsula.
After an hours drive from Christchurch, we arrived at Akaroa. We visted the town but there was not much happening (unless you wanted to see dolphins)... Which we are going to do later on!
So we decided to head on out of Akaroa and ventured out to a farm in search of a cheap Campground.... Which we succeeded!!!
The campsite which we found was very solitary.... as in dark lane, big field, river... and us. Basically it was a YMCA school set up which gets used in the summer.... Only us were crazy enough to be camping in the winter, but it meant we had power, our own kitchen, a bathroom each, 7 picnic benches ... and a whole lot of scenery!!
One Problem....
It was the worlds scariest place to be at night... on your own!!......... and Lee was not very happy when Kirst woke him up to go to the loo at 2:30 in the Morning... in the Freezing cold!!!!
However as we were in the middle of know where the stars filled the sky... hundreds like you would never see back home!
We only spent the night in Akaroa, this morning lee got up nice and early ... made tea and Crumpets.. after trying to get the frozen shampoo out of the bottle as it was left out overnight.
We then spent the day driving south past huge open plains and mountain ranges which had been covered in Snow!
We have arrived in Dunadein a large town where we can go and see some penguins and seals, a very long day on the road.... over 500km......... with plenty of Sheep... Sheep and more Sheep to be seen on the road!
Hope you are all well ............ and for once being warmer than we are!!
Thanks for all the nice messages about the engagement.
Loves you all
Lee and Kirst x
