Hi everyone
Sorry the last blog was a little rushed as we run out of credit on our internet cards. We were staying on the peninsula and had no way of collecting any more credit anywhere!
Again as you may have seen in our pictures...we were very lucky to see the dolphins off of hahei beach. There were in really close and played about in the surf which was really cool...as the world got around the tiny little town, the locals started to build up to see sight! Im dead proud as we were the first to spot them and we stayed ver two hours in the end! Long enough to capture this wonderful photo of the sunsetting behind the rocks.
After staying at hahei for a few days we headed out to hot water beach which is only about 6km away. The plan here was to dig a big hole...and sit in it! I know...sounds random doesn't it! When the tide is out the thermal springs underneath the sand are able to be felt by foot...actually they were too hot to stand on...it literally would burn your feet!
So we decided to go and play in the sand! Lee, naturally, wanted to dig the big and bestest hole that there would ever be! Child! With him hard at work...I sat and watched (That's what it is all about!) His was indeed the biggest and best hot water pool...and the hottest! We both sat and watched the sunset in the pool! Although...others had beer and we didn't.... Boo!
After an exhausting day (I know! we are so hard done by!) We headed for the campsite to sleep.
The following day we got up and headed towards Auckland...which took abot 5 hours and when we arrived it was...gloomy. I am still not very well (don't panic mum just a cold) and so Auckland di not seem very exciting!
The following day we decided to head up to the bay of islands...one problem...it took us like 3 hours to find our way out of the city! It was crazy! Like spaghetti junction. The small stop off was for only one reason! Pick up our All blacks tickets for saturday! I even bought an all blacks tshirt!
After lots of consideration...Lee and I have decided that we do not really want to spend that much time in Auckland...so we have phoned up Quantas and have changed our Flights to Fiji to Monday! I know...I can't resist that sunshine. Although the weather in the North Island has been fabulous! Except 1 day fo rain! But never mind. The temp has also been about 16-17 degrees centergrade so not too bad at all!
We are currently in the bay of island...which although looks very impressive in the postcards...is not so in the flesh. We have decided that must be because it is overcast as we have met so many travellers that have totally fallen in love with the place! It is still nice though! I think we are just spoilt!
Hope everyone is well, will be thinking of Linda tomorrow (my fingers are crossed)
but I know I will see her in like less than a month now! Wahoo!
My love to everyone as always
Lots of love Kirst and Lee xxx
