Woke up late after fitful sleeps and packed up for our drive back south to Punta Arenas. Said good bye to our dogs, Thing One and Thing Three who had adopted us the night before, along with all the nice people and sights and times in Puerto Natales, armed with turkey and cheese and tomato sandwiches for the road as well as S-Town and Hamilton. Arrived and headed to the Museo Nao Victoria which was an amazing nautical museum featuring the only full size replica of Magellan's ship upon which we were allowed to cavort after having a complimentary coffee and cocoa courtesy the museum. On to the HMS Beagle where we played a couple rounds of hide and seek (replete with jump scares) and then an investigation of the James Caird - the lifeboat used by Ernest Shackleton- and the Alcud. Check into hotel and We go for a walk along the waterfront while Andrew goes for a run. After A's run, we head to the Museum of the Navy a couple blocks from the hotel. Cool interactive exhibits including buttons to push and telegraph. Then we sent the kids off on their own for search of souvenirs , sodas and snacks, while Andrew and I got some drinks. Found the kids (alive) back at the hotel and rallied for dinner. Passed by a bombero station (fire fighter station) and looked in the window and waved. Fire fighters came out and invited us in And gave us a tour! They were all volunteers and one described his visit to the fire stations in New York last year - and showed us the helmet he got there. It was pretty unique and fantastic and supported our philosophy that people are basically good world wide. To La Luna for dinner and back home where we are contemplating the biggest conventional bomb dropped on Afghanistan today. Worried about global affairs.
