What a day! After a little 'incident' yesterday, partially caused by poor route selection, but mainly by a poorly protected traverse i led on a climb called 'Trapeze', Jess got first pick of climbs today. "I wanna do something epic!" she says. So we head out more or less first thing, for a climb called 'Siren'. A mere grade 9 (for one pitch, 8 for 2.... And a 6 and 4 thrown in for good measure!), 145 meter monster that was sure to take all day! Packed lunch in tow, we stopped to eat after the second pitch 60m up the wall, an interesting traverse, followed by a little corner and Jess leading the final and crux pitch of the whole climb!
A few photos in the warm sinking sunlight at the top, and a quick descent down 'the pharos gully'.
Now sitting cosy around a roaring fire sipping a hot cuppa, about to crack into my book (Sinning Across Spain - by Ailsa Piper). Good end to a great day!
