After a couple days helping run assessments for cert 3 outdoor rec trainees in the grampians headed back home to Arapiles. A cruisy morning up the first pitch of D Major again, before heading out with a couple guys from work to multi pitch "the Nude Balloon Dance". (Nic, Dave, Jess and I) A grade 8, 30meter, 2 pitch climb on the south side of 'Mitre Rock'. Jess lead the first pitch, followed by Dave, then Nic, with me cleaning up. We then reversed the order for the second pitch. As I was leading and out of earshot, Nic and Dave were conjuring up a plan to test my skills and make sure I knew what I needed to for Jess and I's course starting the next day. Almost to the top of the climb Dave (climbing 3rd) exclaimed he couldn't go any further. He was 'stuck' and didn't know what to do to continue! Nic and Dave were playing 'bumbly' and I had to play guide. After a a quick Z drag, to haul him up a tricky patch, we were away again! Not to self, belaying with a gri gri (auto locking belay device) makes a Z drag super easy!
Really nice climb, finished with a cool decent and a milkshake in Natimuk!
