So I arrived in Austin two days ago. Aside from some slight jet lag, and the last remnants of a cold, holding onto my lungs (it's no more annoying than swatting at mosquitoes), things here are great so far.
People keep talking about how damn cold it is, but seriously, folks.. it's hoodie weather.
I flew into Texas from NYC, where I spent three days in the blistering COLD. It was beautiful and fun as always- the NYC charm can't be hidden behind any sort of weather. That said, it was painfully cold there, and we watched much of that charm through the frosty windows of Sarah's (HUGE) artsy, warehouse loft apartment; also charming.
We ate good food, and listened to good music, and watched good movies. And everything just looks, sounds, tastes more romantic in new york.
Here I am in the new warmth of Austin. They keep assuring me that the weather will get much nicer by the weekend. They don't get how little I care. ha!
but seriously, if I'm compelled to put on a pair of shorts during my stay here, that will be a dream.
i hope you're all taking care and keeping warm!
