Whitsundays - We were told that we needed to go to a short briefing at 1.15pm to explain a few bits about the trip. This meeting was a total waste of time they could have easily given us our keys and snorkels at reception. Koalas for you, unfortunately not the greatest of groups to book with!! we got ourselves some snacks in case there was no food, just some basic fruit and water:) we got to the marina at 2.30 ready to board...3.30 ish and still not boarded - so much for 3 days sailing.Due to the amount of people going they had to split us into 2 groups, we got put on the Kora, a supposidly faster and better boat. We were out at sea for i believe an hr to 2 hrs before arriving at Molle Island where we were to stay for 2 nights. The resort itself was luxury, go to the backpackers part and the luxury dissapears! the room was a 6 bed shared, in ours 4 other lads,so i was the only girl!! Erin, Paula, Danni, Nat and Nikki from fraser were on the same boat at us, so at least i had their company:)The room was very basic with a shower and toilet, the ceiling was thatched and disgusting, dirty and when you first look up you see a cockroach...Adam to the rescue:-D the air con was broke and the door didnt lock..now what were we paying for??? we wasted no time in getting ready and leaving the room for dinner. first night 2 jugs of beer at $12 and a jim beans and coke for $8!! rip off. Dinner was pretty nice they did some sweet potatoe salad and celery and apple salad with pasta and chicken. we spent the evening socialising with our room mates - Andy, Ben, Craig and craig and the girls. The girls seemed very drunk which was funny especiallyErin and the lads were hilarious when they danced. we stayed out till around 12 before trying to sleep. The next day we had to be up for 6am as breakfast was from 6-6.30. It seems we wont get a decent sleep until cairns!! we got to sea at around 8.30-9am nice and calmcatching some rays well that is until we reached a point in the ocean where the boat went berserk, it was crazy like you were on a constant ride,it was so funny - the people sat at the front dissapeared at one stage the front went so far into the waves. A bottle of sun lotion hit my leg and i thought it was a fish that had been brought onboard. After a good 45mins of this we arrived at a more calmer spot before getting to whitehaven beach...ok now people have said that this beach is meant to be the nicest beach in the world.I would disagree. Dont get me wrong it was nice but nothing special some parts had all the crap brought from the sea but the sand was just magical it was like flour. To get back to the boat we decided to swim, half way out and you felt a sense of panic cause it was likely a shark would come or a jelly fish...luckily neither came but it was scary. The lunch they put on was really nice and after eating we made our way to some cove to snorkel for 30 mins. I had to try and use the fins they gave us, never used these before so i jumped in...they are so hard to use Adam just wouldnt stop laughing at me - really bad giggles he had meanwhile i was confused why i could graspe the fins:( After snorkeling we headed back to the island we were staying on. Had some dinner this time steak or veggie burger with pasta and salad. the place was deserted after everyone must have been tired. we just chilled in the room, where outside one mahousive spider decided to make s presence known by running up the window and back down to luckily vanish. It ran really fast!! maybe a huntsman were not sure, just glad the door was shut. Final day on whitsundays was spent with an hr at sea to get to another snorkel area, as i jumped in i am sure i saw a manta ray swimming, snorkeled for around 1 hr it was lovely so many fishes swimming all around you:) once finished we had lunch again and headed back to Airlie beach. This took around 2 hrs maybe less. Once back we had to hang around to get our bus to cairns - we got to airlie at 2pm and the bus is at 8.25pm.
