From Surfers we made our way to Brisbane on a short bus journey, We were unsure where our pick up was. But after a quick scout around
we found the gentleman from Moreton Bay who was taking us to the hostel. What we didnt realise was how far the hostel was
from the city!!
There was literally nothing in the area of Moreton Bay except a few pubs, cafes and a supermarket. Luckily we wouldnt be spending long there.
We went to Australia zoo on the Friday - waking at 6am and on the train to Brisbane at 6.30am, arrived into the city at 7.11am but the train to Beerwah
wasnt until 8am. We arrived at the zoo at 9.20am ish. Dont get me wrong the zoo was good but the cost i felt was too much for what you see.
Enough of the moans about money...we got to see crocodiles, tigers, elephants, Tasmanian devils, kangaroos that you could stroke and feed i might add hehe.
Oh and lots of snakes:-S.
There was a show they did that was extrememly insightful about how and why the animals do what they do and how we can do our part to keep them protected:)
The next day we went into Brisbane to south bank, there was a man made beach and lagoon which was fun. also a one of a kind market that had many nice things i longed to buy but couldnt:(
We noticed that brisbane itself is extremely contemporary in fact very modern in its decor. many tall buildings seen in other cities so nothing new there. But the parks walkways were just beautiful with purple coloured flowers in the arch ways.
Our last day in Brisbane was spent in the city again we lasted until 3pm before returning to the hostel for a movie - I got pestered by this 2 year boy who wanted to play at first it was ok but gradually i felt awkward.
