we got into boston a few mins earlier than scheduled, however due to delays from other airlines we didnt get off the plane for 45mins or so. therefore we were late for at least an hour. We picked up our luggage and made our way to our hostel. Although easy to get to, it still seemed tricky. especially with our bags getting on and off trams at the subway. We made it to the hostel at around 8.30pm and we were starving, firstly let me explain the hostel. Old fashioned a terror towers the second!! Adam said as we entered after noticing the victorian photos on the side "Haunted" - I told him not to scare me and to shhhh!!. We got to our room and it was like being back at terror towers, top floor in the atic. The room had 3 beds in, a tv, fridge and microwave. All we could think was we only have two nights here. Once our bags were off we went into the small town near us for some food. We ate at Spikes this hot dog place. I had the veggie option and adam had some dog with stuff on. Both were disgusting and we felt terrible afterwards.
The next day we went into Boston common, we looked around and were concerned as there was so little to do and it seemed almost deserted. We prayed it wouldnt be another dallas. Luckily it wasnt, we had just gone into the boring financial district. So we made our move towards colby i thinks its called to look around there. We ended up back at the hostel around 6pm. the following day we moved hostels to a much better one closer to everything. we also got free breakfast so that was a bonus. we dropped off our belongings and headed for the Quincey markets. This took us a good hour + to get to and it was freezing cold, but getting there was worth it. We decided it was about time we had an actual meal so we stopped off at the 'replica' Cheers pub. There was plenty of shops but nothing much tourist wise, so was annoying because we didnt want to spend. However in the end we came back with quite a few bits and bobs.
We awoke the following day tuesday and felt like poo travelling for this length of time, the to and froing has got to us, we are shattered and in need of a rest. we walked around Fenway park and to the Red Sox stadium and then back to the hostel to change before heading out to the shops. I am a little dissapointed at the fact that boston hasnt much to see and im praying the enjoyment of travelling will return when we go to Chicago and New York because everything we've seen is the same and its getting boring and thats not a good sign. maybe we are just tired so seein things negativly. We shall see how tomorrow pans out as we are heading to boston common again to fully take in the sights of Boston, if they can be found.
The day went pretty fast we continued our walks around Boston in search of something else to find. We walked towards the direction of boston common and sat for sometime in the park, i can imagine central park in new york being similiar yet a lot bigger. We found it amusing watching some squirrels being fed by an asian women and daughter of i'd say 4 years. Adam was on guard to see if the squirrels would attack the girl, very sad lol she was constantly chasing them. Incomes the birds too, loads swarmed to the grass finding food that they had dropped. From here we walked through a small street that had one of a kind boutiques, some with nice stuff, yet stupidly priced. After looking around we walked in the direction near quincey market but further up from there. The day was spent walking. Once back at the hostel we had a free meal of spaghetti and salad put on by the hostel.
