We awoke at 4.30am and made our way in the pouring rain to the bus stop in dallas, we had to get on the 408 to the parking section and then a bus would take us to our terminal. When we arrived there was a massive que and we were close to missing the plane.
Luckily got on board and after a 2.5 hr flght we made it to washington dc. weather chilling but clear skies...no rain, thank goodness!!
We got to our hostel put our bags in storage and searched for somewhere for breakfast/lunch. we ate at this food court - the choice was endless, dont think we cared as we'd hardly eaten in dallas so was a treat:)
After here we went looking around, literally there is monuments, museums, shops etc everywhere you look. we saw the white house which was dissapointing as wasnt as good as you think. However something appeared to be happening as the police had cornered off places. yep you guest it the president was on the move, after a long wait lots of cars made their move and Obama was in one of them, some girls actually screamed as the car went past. But in all honesty it was ridiculous at the size of the entourage!!!
We went to the World war II memorial , Lincoln memorial and several others. we have plenty to get done tomorrow on our final day here.
second and final day in washington dc we awoke at 7.30am after both having a very rubbish sleep, no thanks to other people snoring and movements made through the night. we had breakfast which was a lot better than usual - toast, cereals, fruit and tiny little muffins. Once we'd washed we made our way into the cold and snowy weather, yep we've seen it all now. we went looking for gloves, but no shop opened till 10am - Adams words 'Lazy' we had done most the sights the day before so we look around again in search of something new. We walked towards a shopping district later on in the afternoon - found some bits and bobs but it jus made us want to be in new york so that we could spend. It is now half 7 at night and we've had dinner, getting early night so guess be in bed around 9pm before leaving tomorrow to Boston.
