Hello all we're nearing the end of our stay in Hong Kong and Having had a poor start to our stay what with cockroach ridden hostels and awfull weather it would be easy to assume that we would have had enough but truth be told the last couple of days here have been awesome. The weather has picked up and allthough still very very muggy it has stopped rainning here, the temperature is around 35 degrees each day but now we have a little tan.
There is a swimming pool that we have also been too which was nice to just go and chill out at. and our second hostel was much better than the first but the air conditioner isnt very good and its so hot in the room we try to avoid spending time there as much as possible!!
We have been to the night market, just about a 10 min walk from where we are staying which was pretty cool. Just one huge row of stalls selling all the usual tat and I have to confess that i did pick up one or two bargains en route. the market was open until midnight and was extremely busy but i got a watch and some batterys and Sam got some hairclips (big spender!).
We went for a ride on the peak tram and up to the peak tower where we got some amazing views of the whole of Hong Kong (which can be seen in the photos section). it was awesome to be that far over the skyline and when it got dark the views were even more stunnng. we have had a couple of decent meals, the food here is good if you want western food but you have to pay lots for it which isnt that great, we're looking forward to some cheap food from now on in south east asia. whilst walking through town the other day I spotted a nightclub by the name of element!!! cant wait to see if iI find a flares or flare soon lol
The best day we have had by far was yesterday (monday) when we went to disneyland, it was great to be able to feel like a kid again and the ques were not all that bad so we got to go on most of the rides lost of times. We saw a live theatrical performance of the lion king which was really good and a 3d show where you had to wear those glasses and things were flying all of over the place allthough not in reality which someone should have told the Chinese as they all were reaching out trying to grab things (absolutley hilarious). we saw a song presentation from most bof the films and have got some wicked pics again.
We have today been to see the Man Mo Temple which is one of the oldest remaining temples on the island but wasnt quite as impressive as we had hoped. We are tonight getting things sorted and packed for our flight out tomorrow afternoon into Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Keep in touch all, hopefully we will be able to keep you all updated in Vietman
