This morning we both awoke with sore arms after yesterdays rafting. We managed to have a late breakfast early lunch of Special K. I never knew that stuff tasted so nice. Anyways we found out that you couldnt catch the bus to the Seilpark as we had hoped so we were going to have to negotiate the Swiss Rail service.
After walking the 10 minutes to the train station we found out that it was going to cost us 40 Swiss Francs to get a return train to a station that is 4 stops down the line... RIP OFF!!! We discovered that our train was not an ordinary train but a train that runs on cogs for safety purposes. After we went from Lauterbrunnen to Interlaken Ost we had to jump off the rain and catch the adjoining train to Interlaken West.
After going across possibly the cleanest lake that I have ever seen we came to the station and jumped off. After a 10 minute walk we were at the Seilpark. During the walk all we could smell was the Horse poop and it reminded us of the Ekka.
Once at the Seilpark we were fitted with Harnesses and Gloves and taken along a safety course and a quick zip line before being sent to negotiate what lied above us. There were 5 courses rangeing in difficutly. We were told to start with the easiest one and then after that do which ever we liked. Laura went first despite her fear of heights and raced through the course with me always one obstacle behind and offering useful or useless advice.
After a quick chocolate break we went onto the third hardest course which was also the longest and highest. This course was quite testing to both Laura and myself as each obstacle only suited either myself with my height and strength or Laura with her flexibility and guile.
This course must have taken us at least half an hour to forty-five minutes. After the completion of this Laura told me that she only had one more course left in her arms so we did the second easiest course which consisted only of zip-lines. We raced through this course however we would have got done quicker if the guy infront wasnt such a chicken.
After completing that course I decided to test myself on the second hardest course. Stupidly I didnt have my harness done up correctly and got caught on one of the wires which caused me to fall. I got a small number of bruises on the bicep of my right arm and lost some skin on my left shin and trust me it didnt tickle. After around half an hour I managed to complete the course and was completely knackered.
Laura and I walked to the train with another BusAbout passenger who had been a the park as well, Martine. After a few delays we returned to Lauterbrunnen around 7:30pm and Laura made pasta for dinner in our Caravan. After the dishes were done we called it a night as tomorrow we were going to take the journey to the top of Jungfraujoch.
