Today we visited the Palace of Versailles. After a very slow start this morning we made our way into Paris and located the station we needed to catch our train to the Palace - only to find it temporarily closed.....Being the clever people that we are, we sorted out that problem and made it out to Versailles. By the time we had arrived it was raining - only slightly - but enough to ruin our day. We waited for a while and enjoyed a choc chip pastry -mmm. When the rain didn't give, we decided to buy two very attractive ponchos and made our way up to the Palace.
We waited for AT LEAST two hours to buy our tickets to get into the Palace. Needles to say by this time we were very agitated. That all eventually melted away once we made our way inside the Palace. Beautiful does not even come close to describing the inside of the Palace. It is so luxurious and extravagant. We walked open mouthed through most of the chateau, listening to our audio guides. I really have not go the words to explain what this place was like so you will have to have a look at the pictures - I could not even imagine a place this amazing....
Legs absolutely aching, we made out way out into the gardens, whcih again have to be seen to be believed........more to come...internet time is baout to run out...
