And so we get to Arequipa, the second largest city in Peru. Quite pretty with a huge catholic monastary which is now a major tourist attraction due tot he fact that it has been closed to the public for so long.
From here we visited the famous Colca Canyon...supposedly a similar size to the grand canyon in America. We did a hike up the valley to see some Inca tombs which were pretty cool. The hotel we stayed in was built on an Inca burial site...not the wisest of things to do! We survived with no tales to tell unfortunately. The place is famous for condor spotting. I was sick that day, but didn´t really miss getting up at 5am to watch some big birds. Off to Nasca tonight...the first night bus in a while, quite looking forward to it. Is that wrong...
