Made it to Byron Bay, as surfers hang out and so very laid back. Went out with the Swedish girls in my room last night-by 1am most pubs had closed and we were left with tiny sweaty clubs to choose from-not good! Byron has beautiful beaches and lots of walks around the headland, the most famous being the walk to the light house. The Cape Byron Point is actually the most Easterly point in Australia-an interesting fact if ever there was one!
The walk to the lighthouse is spectacular, taking in some of the nicest beaches I've seen so far in Australia. Walking down this morning I dont know how many surfers there were in the water waiting for the waves to come in-quite a hypnotic sight.
As it is quite a hippy area (and close to the Rainbow Region hippy mecca town of Nimbin) there are lots of alternative shops to waste time in when the sunbathing has been to much (not happened yet)
Byron is also the place where I got my shark tattoo-hurt like hell but worth the pain-advice to anyone-don't get anything on your ribs-ouch!
