Back to town for the day!
Caught the bus from a few houses down which was very convenient. Bus at 8.55am to the train station at Oak Grove, then onto a waiting train at 9.10am, into downtown at 9.30am...too easy!
Went straight to the Post Office to send my package of dancing gear home, since I have luggage restrictions for my tour. Wow...that hit me in the hip pocket!! I didn't have any choice though.
I didn't have too much of a plan for today, since we're coming back to Boston on tour. I decided to do a whale watch tour, since we won't be doing that on tour.
It was amazing!! It went for about 3 hours. It's about 1hr15m out to the location, so only about 30 mins bobbing and watching. They were popping up in groups for 30 seconds or so then disappearing for about 5 mins. The guy on the mic said he saw at least 10 different hump back whales, when usually they only see up to 4. He can tell them apart by the underside of their tails...they're all unique like our fingerprints. He was quite excited and said it was hands down his best tour all season, and even in his 10 years working there! (Slight exaggeration maybe?!)
Back around 2.30pm so I just spent the afternoon wandering Boston. Nothing terribly exciting, although I did find the Cheers bar, but we're going there on tour later so I by passed it.
The last bus home was 7pm so I bought a sanga and drink at a supermarket and made my way on the train and bus home. Overshot my bus stop though and had to walk 5 mins back...d'oh! Got home just after 7pm.
Skyped the folks again and my nephew was there with them, so it was nice to see him (and the folks too, of course!)
I met my host's daughter and chatted awhile before retiring around 9ish. Just spent 2 hours trying to plan my next 2 days which turned out more complicated than I thought!!
So tired...and my feet are still sore from all the dancing. Soldiering on though!
