Okay, okay, I know last nights edition was a little too...what to call it...b****y. Sometimes, though, everyone's got to do it...last night was my time. No apologies though. Today I basically did the same thing I do every day...except today I decided to make a game of it, and all worked out well.
How many times have you wanted something so bad that you purposely made the positives outweigh the negatives? Well, I've been doing that for quite a while now with "The Blue Widow". For those of you unaware, last July I purchased a 1982 Fiat Spider. I'd always wanted a convertible, so I got one. That first day was great! Well, maybe those first two hours. Since then it's been one thing after another. For a short time in February it seemed that I'd finally gotten to the point that I could have some fun. Denise and I took a weekend trip via backroads and had a blast. Only thing left to do was replace the top. Since "The Blue Widow" was my 'hobby' I thought I'd try to fix it myself. Uh, no. No skills there. Just not as much desire as I thought I had. I decided to modify the back seat area (great place to sit if you have no legs). So, I pulled out the back seat. What did I find? Pavement. It seems that whomever owned it previously had left it outside...with a bad top. So, the next project became fixing the rust and holes. Hey! This is my HOBBY! I found a kit online (you can find EVERYTHING online) and thought about getting it. Again, I realized I have no skills in that department. So now I have a car that I LOVE, that I'm so wanting to escape in, that seems to need more and more of my time and money. Should I sell it and start over (and be more picky)? Should I try to fix it and keep frustrating myself? I don't know. All I seem to know is...I've been bitten by "The Blue Widow".
