Hello everyone! I made it to India in one piece! Definitely wishing I had packed lighter! But my arms will just be real buff by the time I get back! It has been quite a wild ride the last couple of days. I had a 13.5 hour flight from Newark, New Jersey to Delhi then I got to experience the crazy traffic of India before reaching my hotel for the night. The hotel was amazingly adequate nothing like a 2 star hotel in the states though. Then we (the group I am here with) were up and ready to go by 5:30 this morning to go catch our train to Dehra Dun. The train ride was pretty amazing. I don't really know how to describe it. I'm pretty sure I saw the poorest of the poor along the way. The service on the train was amazing, they came by every 30 min with something to eat or drink. The food is interesting, I have eaten everything offered me thus far and I am not sick yet! Tonight myself and 3 other students are headed up to Thangoan, about an hour from Dehra Dun, for the week. There we will be woring with Dr. Paul and will be observing his work in the clinic there as well as hiking to the camps he works at on Tuesday and Thursday. I am pretty excited as I have been told it is absolutely beautiful but it is pretty much teh bearest of the bear up there, therefore I will not have internet access. I will update again hopefully this enxt weekend or so. Let me know if you have questions so I can better guide these blogs. Hope everyone is doing well! So far, India is Amazing and I'm so glad I'm here!
