I have totaly fallen in love with this country; it is the most beautiful place I have seen! Snow capped mountains, forests and incredibly friendly, helpful people. I think I could quite easily live here. Not sure Dave was quite as convinced to pack up life in England!
Initially we had hoped to do lots of walking but unfortunately weather was not on our side. We did however manage to hike up to a fantastic waterfall. Due the the insane amount of rain we had just had the waterfall was pretty fierce. Climbing to the top was incredible and for someone who doesn't really like heights I was quite adventurous. This small experience of hiking in Slovenia has left us both wanting more. A trip to Ljubljana in the pouring rain was a nice break from the campervan (cards in the rain), a small but lovely town with some interesting antique stalls.
We stayed in Slovenia for only 5 days and I wish it could have been longer; no other country has felt so welcoming. During our 5 days we had beautiful sunshine followed by torrential rain and thunder followed by snow; the latter led to a hastey departure! Not sure we were ready to be stuck in snow in the Bongo (can't be bothered to dig out the snow chains - they currently are under a variety of tinned produce!)
Dave has banned the tractor game and singing in the car. But I can report that 'Pass the Pigs' is a big hit (probably because Dave always wins, but you know, we are all talented at something!)
