Hello Everyone. Just a quick one from Aus, seeing as ive been here 2 weeks i thought id better give you all a bit of an update. I cant be too long as Jocie's laptop is up the creek, i wrote a really long one the other day and i lost it all, so hence the quick one.
Australia is gorgeous, despite the weather, and the people are really nice. Balmain, where geoff and Jocie live is lovely. It has a really sweet highstreet with loads of cafe's and boutiques and is only just outside the city centre. Ive been really lazy since i got here, and ive made very little effort to find a job. I have handed out a few CV's, but i just cant face working. I worked for 6 months solid at home to get here, and the thought of having to start again isnt very nice. The emergency credit card may be the temporary answer to my problems when i start to run out of money.... Anyway, the weather hasnt been all that great. It was cloudy and overcast for the whole of the first week, we had one hot sunny day and that was it. Geoff and Jocie have said that the summer's been really poor. I'm hoping for a nice march and april! Grandma and Bryan have been here too, so its been really nice to see some people from home. We went to Jervis bay this weekend, as JOcie had a triathlon. The weather was fantastic, boiling hot all 3 days, maybe not so great for the people in the triathlon, but i enjoyed it!! (having said the wetahers been really bad, the sun has just come out! But seeing as its 4 o clock, it might be a bit late for the beach?!) Jocie did really well in her triathlon, which was quite fun to watch, mainly due to the fit young men competing.... Its all part of her training for this race called iron man, which is double the length of the triathlon she just did in under 5 hours. So that makes the other one about 10 - 11 hours..... Due to my lack of participation in any form of competitive sport, or any sport for that matter, (the closest i get to breaking a sweat is walking around topshop 5 times on a saturday afternoon) you can imagine how horrified i was upon hearing this. Crazy people. Geoff did manage to drag me out on a bike ride, YES, a bike ride, on a 'sydney highlights tour'. It would have possibly been slightly more enjoyable on foot (or in a taxi) but it was nice to see harbour bridge and the opera house etc. The next day i pretended to be a little cultured and went to the Art gallery of NSW which was actually quite interesting.
When Grandma and Bryn got here we went to a nice place called MOsman bay for the day. Absolutely gorgeous houses and bay. The pictures are on here. Ive been to the aquarium too which was fun. I was a little dissapointed i didnt get to see any great white sharks, and its a bit depressing seeing seals stuck in a really small tank.
Other than that not much to report. Hope all is well at home, will update again soon, Abbi
