Hello all! well i have been a very busy be that is for sure! Went to Koh San Road on the 17th - and why do a few quiet drinks very prove to be a few quiet drinks. After stumbling home with my other dormies after eating take away noodle instead of chips as a novelty i was fast asleep in no time.
In the morning i said my goodbyes to the ladies i met in Lub D hostel and traveled up to the weekend market for a nose around. I went on the metro and the sky train (Jane you will love) all on my tod. impressed much?
After spending a little too much money i thought it best i just took it steady for the rest of the day. that and the fact i was still a little hung over...
I caught the 8pm sleeper train from bangkok, thailand to vietiene, Laos where i arrived at 10am the next morning. It is not as bad as it sounds at all. in fact i reccomend using this way to get anywhere a long distance.
I was picked up from the train station (after sorting a visa) by the resort guys. I stayed in an eco-lodge as part of my graphics project to show tourism in a positve light. The setting was absolutely beautiful and i will put pictures up as soon as i remember to bring my card reader with me. I stayed in a little wooden shack in the jungle just of the ngam ngum river. I went on a little trek then dipped my toes in the river and made a friend, fred the kitten. We watched the sun set together... aww.
In the morning i managed to squeeze in a boat tour up and down the ngam ngum before being taken into Vientiene where i am now.
I arrived at 1.00pm managed to get stuck at the bank for an hour, check into my guest house, sort a visa for vietnam and find an internet cafe and it is only 5.30pm!!!
Tomorrow morning at 7am i head off to Vang Vieng for a couple of days where i will be tubing down the Mekong and going caving. After that i head right on up to Luang Prabang to hopefully ride an elephant!! before a 10hour trip back to Vietiene and a 24 hour BUS JOURNEY to Hannoi, vietnam. ahh wish me luck!
p.s. Happy fathers day dad!! missing you loads xxxx
