We woke up at 8:30, best camp ground ever no little kids waking us up at the wee small hours it was such a relaxing place loved it! Hot showers, cereal for breaky that we purchased last night, swift pack up and we were off into the town centre for a stroll and a cafe crème (French for a cappuccino with milk). We couldn't help ourselves when passing the French bakery and we indulged in a morning snack of fresh pizza bread oooh why do they make such good bread!!! Today's plan is to head to Chamonix (I think that's how it is spelt). The road trip game of the day is write your name on the car tyre when we stop the name closest to the road to furtherest from the road has to wear the hat ranked s***test to best. First stop that we did it was not too far from Chamonix, where I was lucky enough to get Elvis!! We hit torrential rain half way down which made it difficult to keep playing the game as the names rubbed off the tyre so in actual fact I was stuck with Elvis all day, and night!! The rain also put us off camping so we ended up locking in hostel -the Ski Station in Chamonix for €16.00 each. We had a two bedroomer dorm with 7 beds for only the 5 of us so was pretty basic but sweet! We ran down town, in jandals and singlet's with spare clothes to get into as no one had brought jackets or brollies, I was also wearing Elvis as the others had donned their hats too. Fair to say that we, or I mainly got some wierd looks, me laugh and finger points but was all in good fun. When chcking out menu th aiter was like 'oooh Elvisd, elvis, we love you' so we decided to eat there! We grabbed some cards on the way home and decided to have a few reds - cheap €5 cask and play some games at the hostel. We realised when home we only had 32 cards and it was a random French pack so with a bit f kiwi ingenuity we created the rest of cards out of a muesli packet and ditched the jokers for home made elvis cards!! Had a beaut night and snuggied into bed ready for our day of travel to castellina.
