Sa wat de ka! We made it to Ko Tao (turtle island) and it is paradise! We were travelling for over 24 hours straight. We stayed for 2 nights on a beach bungalow on the cliffs which had an amazing view, and we have now moved closer to the beach to another bungalow. I am finding it hard having no how water but you cant complain when you are on such a nice island. It one of the main diving islands so there are lots of dive shops everywhere. We want to explore the other side of the island but the roads are to dangerous so we are a bit stuck on the more touristy bit. The fish here is all amazingly fresh and there is lots of choice for food although there is a lot of western and not as much thai. There is a bar which puts on rugy matched so Hen wants to watch a match on Saturday, they also do guiness. We had to buy lots of beach things when we got here because we didn't really have any, but there are lots of nice shops everywhere. We are trying to wor out how to get to Malaysia at the moment, timing it to make sure we get our next flight. We think we will stay here until the end of the week, it is really nice to just relax. We have a cat who we named jess (she looks liek postman pats cat lol), who lives on our bungalow, we bring her back fish sometimes. I got badly burned yesterday :-( I was only in the sun about 20 mins, it is a brutal sun here. I hope everyone is well at home. Good to hear from you Rosie, no orchestra trip is the same with out the Cullis! You better be about when I get home. Still can't seem to put photos on, this island is not too good for internet lol. Anyway will hopefully blog again soon. x x x x x Abbey and Henry
Hi everyone, thanks for the messages! Owen you would love it here! I could so see you living here when you are older, ope your exams went OK, it's time for you to have a relaxing summer now they are over! Auntie Anna you would also love it here! that was a scorpian! We went back to our guesthouse one night and saw a bucket on the floor and there was a scorpian in it, apparently it ran in and they caught it. If you do kill anything in the garden I would try not to admit to it! Aaron you are in so much trouble if my roo is trashed (abbajab). It is our last day on Ko Tao as we are leavng tomorrow, the plan: get boat to bigger island with airport, get plane to penang (Malaysia) stay the night, get ferry to butterworth, get train to Kuala Lumpur, day aybe 2 nights, get train to Singapore. It has been really nice having some time to relax here. I brought Hen a good sorkelling mask etc for his birthday and we went to the otherside of the island to a really nice bay and snorkelled for hours, it was amazing, I have never snorkelled before and I was amazed by it, would definitely do it again. Other than that we have just enjoy our surroundings, the people and the food. Some cute thai kids came and sat with us one day. and I let the girl take pictures on my camera (which were actually pretty good lol) when I have better internet I will put some photos on. Today Henry bought a lot of fresh prawns for our cat jess who went crazy for them and is now smugly asleep on the bungalow. We would like to expore more of the island but the roads are just so bad its really dangerous and you cant get helmets here either. I hope it everntually stops raining over there and you get some sun! Thinking of everyone. Lots of love Abbey, Henry and Jess. x x x x x x
