Hello all, thanks for all your blogs posts, it's good to hear frm everyone, sorry to hear about bank holiday rain. Well we have moved on now to Ayuthaya, the sacred city, it was the Siamese royal capital. We enjoyed our last few days in Bangkok, making use f the amazing metro they have there! We went to the Chatuchak weekend market, which is the behemoth of thai markets lol, with everything you can imagine for sale. We had some really good vegeterian spring rolls there. Then we spent the evening in lumphini park, which was really relaxing, it is best to go there in the morning when people practice tai chi or in the evenng when people do aerobics and yoga. It is really clean and peaceful. After that we went to a night market and found a beer garden with loads of good stall food, and giant beer for 90p. There was an asian band doing loads of covers as well, we filmed flo rida for aaron lol. Yesterday we got the sky train to the metro to the station lol Where we got the train to ayuthaya and then got a ferry across. We are now staying in the PU guesthouse here. We got some lunch, i had a tofu pad thai which was good and hen had a chicken noodle soup :-) Then we went on a two hour boat tour with people from our hostel and made stops to see some of the best sites. Was really nice, all the local children wave at you, and you get to see thai people in their daily life, fishing etc. The last stop was a night market where we decided to hit the food stalls, we picked the one with most thai people at it as we thought it would be best. THey didnt speak any english so we couldnt work out what they made so we had a mystery dish lol, which turned out to be one of the best dishes we have had. I noticed there are so many dogs here, and hen read in the guide book that you have to watch out for packs of dogs, if you wonder in their territory they will attack you. THen that evening across the river we heard all this noise then saw a huge pack of dogs chasing something. Scary stuff! Later on in the evening we went to a jazz bar for a bucket f rum punch cocktail and a few beers, its just on our road whih is really nice. Tomorrow evening we catch the sleeper train to Chiang mai in the north, her is trying to find somewhere to stay as we speak lol. 12 hour train journey, hopefully we get some sleep! It unbelieveably hot today, really sunny, makes u wish for the rain again! Fred and flo, good luck with your exams, do some revision! Glad indiana jones was good. Thanks for the message Chantelle and Alison :-) I hope you are both well, hope to hear from you again soon. Aaron I hope you are recording lost for me! Will try and put some photos on soon if i can work out how to do it! x x x Lots of love, Henry and Abbey
Hello :-) Yesterday we had some breakfast and decided to hire bikes! yey very funny little things with little baskets on the front, it was 50p for the whole day, so we cycled around and went to see some sites, saw quite a few elephants giving rides aswell. The bikes were such a laugh we looked so funny, all the locals were laughing at us. We found a local shopping mall and got me some comfy flip flops and i have massive blisters and hen got some shorts and he only has one pair lol and a bottle of rice wisky for the evenings. Later in the afternoon, we cycled around to see the city as it gets dark, its very pretty. We then went for some dinner at a local bar. Hen had his first green thai curry (which was really nice) and i went for a wholesome chicken noodle soup, and a couple of chang beers (our fav). It was a prettyquirky bar, the guy how runds it calls himself lek clapton, and played us eric claptons songs all night and tried to give us whisky and water from his glass. I think he enjoys having lots of people at his bar. We saw an old man there who was 94 and was travelling round thailand by himself, he was cool. A bit later it started to rain so we went back for our last night in pu guest house. It was so hot yesterday, the rain cooled it down if only for only a moment. We had at least 4 showers yesterday it was so hot. So far we have escaped any dog packs, which is good. And the bike shop has a really cute dog that reminds me of roo. David I hope that wasn't a dig at my photos! I have limited camera equipment! I am saving the best until last. Chantelle glad to hear to enjoyed the fun, i love rides as well, although henry doesn't like the heights! There is nothing like a good old sleepover! I hope Rosie is having a relaxing time in the sun after all her exams! We have booked a room in the chiang mai white house for chiang mai, lloks pretty decent, and very cheap. Will try and put a video on soon, that will be my next step with technology! lol. Lots of love Abbey and Henry x x x x
