First day in Tanah Rata we decided to go on a big trek into the jungle to the highest point in the highlands. Had problems finding the first trail Keeley was very disturbed when I tried to go up a small muddy trail it was not the path. Once we got on the main trail it was steep but good to be in the jungle we did not see a single other person during the ascent. It rained just before we reached the top which made it hard going sinking into the mud and meant we did not have the views. We enjoyed it all the same clambering over and under the roots of giant trees. We did get some views of the tea plantations on the way back and it then rained again. Very wet we did not pick our own strawberries but did buy some and some white chocolate with strawberries in it very tasty. It fact you could buy anything with either a strawberry in it or with a representation of a strawberry on it in various forms including giant plastic strawberries everywhere. On the way back in the rain people looked at us strangely. Very wet we were happy for our hot shower after seven and a half hour trek. The day did not end well as we stayed up late to watch England lose to Russia.
The next day we got up late and then took Keeley's plaits out then it was nearly dinner time. Did manage to go see one waterfall then went a bought a bottle of wine. Met two people who had also had to endure the football previous night (also drinking wine) and played Loas card game for 5 hours did buy more wine. Played some pool at 2 in the morning with varying degrees of sucess.
