Arrived in Georgetown late as usual. Before we left Thailand some women tried to tell us we needed 500 RM to enter the country. It was a weekend so of course only she could exchange our money! It was not a good exchange rate so we declined and left for Georgetown. At the border they hardly looked at our passports before waving us through.
However when we got to Georgetown we could not find accomadation or a working bank machine. After a couple of hours we did find a hotel and they then took me on motorbike to a bank. The next day we decided to see the sights unfortuantly it was a public holiday everything was closed except a giant temple so we went to see another temple.
The following day we did get to see the sights. Went to the Penang museum it was interesting as it showed the birth of Penang and the diverse populuos that makes it up. The art gallery was still closed. So we spent the afternoon in the botanical gardens carved out of the jungle it was spectacular. We saw more monkeys having now seen quite a few monkeys we found the black and ginger Squirrel much more exciting.
