A and J World Trip
Hi Everyone
Sorry to leave you in suspense for so long...we are now venturing further south and internet access is more iffy. In fact, photos are still beating us, so it may be a few weeks on that front...HK has GOT to have decent access!?
So, anyway....
After Beijing we headed to Pingyao, a small walled city that still seems to live in the Ming dynasty era. It was a fantastic retreat, with no particular sights to trot around, just a lot of mooching along the little streets and taking in the atmosphere. A great chill out for us.
Then it was on to Xi'an with our new found travel friends...made the hard sleeper train a more fun experience! Xi'an was a diverse experience and left us a bit worse for wear....our legs could hardly walk, Jane got a giant bruise on her hip and a swollen toe.
However, we had a great time. The terracotta warriors blew our minds...incredible sight and the history is hard to get your head around. Fantastic. A fountain display to music was the source of the bruises...we did as the locals and ran through the jets (see photos when they come) but Jane didn't make it to the other side!!
The next day we decided to tackle a sacred mountain, Hua Shan. Amazing views and scenery, but our legs took a week to forgive us!
Hope you're all being good.
Lots of love A&J xx
