Odd Lovely Days of Danielle
Well we woke up....fairly early was the plan...but didnt quite work out exactly...going to bed at 4 and then deciding to wake up at 7:30...sounded good at the time...we were itching to site see and get some jewlery...;) We had a great lunch with the best tisiki and pita I ever had...and some grilled vegetables..we were begining to feel a little bit better...we set out after lunch to begin our journey---- we looked all day but it was sunday...so of course it was closed...so then after walking all day being hot and site seeing...we found out way to the Spa...Whats a Budepest without a bath house...that was awesome...I smile just thinking about it...we started in a 36 C and then went to 38 C its amzing the difference of just 2 degrees...and then made our way to the steam room which was like 45-50C but it was unbearable...it hurt to breath..and it burned your eyes...sitting was okay but when you moved...it felt like you were on fire....it was amzing how much one would sweat in 5 seconds...I was a little closterphobic...but then we would dip into the 10 C and that felt so good...it was so therpudic for your body...we did that for awhile...it felt so good after traveling for so long..we even decided to get a massage...but forgot to ask how long...15 minutes...it was worth it though...I was glad that it was same sex...I was worried because I left my swim suit in my suit case and went to go get it---but from the looks opf it it wouldnt have mattered if I used a swim suit or not---we decided to be a little adventurous...ha! then after being relaxed like I had never been before..we left because they were clsong and I drug meg up to this Cave like thing and realized it was a church in a cave that they actually still use today...! It was amazing! I have such a fascination with churches! Then we decided to head back to go out on the town later for our last night...Before I went back home I had to stop inside this big cathedral...and I attended a service in there....it was...well...it just was...and it was awesome...I couldnt help but cry while I was sitting there...it was so nice to see little old ladys that can barely walk still trying to kneel and stand...and singing...and seeing them with so much faith and then seeing someone 4 times younger...full of blief...something about it just blows me away...I was paralized by the music and the love...and couldnt help but cry...sigh....as I walked out there were so many homeless people and old woman selling flowers..and older people making their way down underground to sell stuff...when they are clearly too old to be doing so...a woman playing harmonica while her embarressed 12 your old stands by her side...it was so heart breaking...they are just abandoned...I was in a spa while these families were searching for food...a man polayed his fiddle and then I proceeded to dance...I dance everywhere I go...always.....but just seeing a life that they have always known...was so moving and strange... and I then made it way back to the Hostel...took a shower and waited for Meg to return. She ended up falling asleep and I hung out with the roomies for a bit. They offered me a beer and French man...HAHA!!! Terdy and Weines! I havent laughed that hard for the longest time....he offered some cigars from Santo Domingo Rupulica Dominicana! and they were awesome...We then decided to head out in search of a huka bar...which no one seemed to know...I asked a couple of people and they mistakenly thought I was asking for coke..herione...or some other drug I have no idea about...it was quite funny...They were like why do you want this this is so dirty...I was like what?! Finally I got it...appently Huka bars are not as big as I thought in Budepest...we then made our way to old mans pub...me french boy and Mehaglana--it was awesome...one of the coolest places I have ever had a drink in...it wasnt packed but the set up was aweosme...I got pictures with little juice that I had left......it was something that I would have come up with...I talked them into then going to a cuban salsa club but everything that we wanted to do was closed...it was disappointing...and our last night...and then to top it off we got a little lost..eventually we made it back to our place...and decided to turn in for the night...not exactly the big bang I was hoping for...but we had to wake up early...for our sad good bye..
