Dear family and friends, it's been 9 days since my arrival to this wonderful city. So far while waiting on my internship placement, I was able to explore the natural beauties of this city. Table mountain was definetely one of those places that leaves you breatheless. I have adjusted to time, transportation and food. Also, I am very lucky to have made new friends from different parts of the world. My first day at St. Anne's was really good. When I got there the staff was having a meeting so I was asked to wait in the toodler room:)....that's what I call an experience!. The children that stay at St. anne's are the children of the abused women in the transition home. Some of the children have witnessed the abuse or have been abused themselves. They were not that friendly when I walked into the room but after a few minutes they warmed up and I had 3 to 4 toddlers grabbing my earrings, touching my face and wanting to be held:). On Thursday I will be giving my first workshop at St. Anne's. I am currently working on making an 8 week calendar of treatment/education workshops. I will take pics of the St. Anne's lavender building one of these days that I take a cab instead of a mini bus:). I've also contacted an orphanage in Khayelitsha. I will let you know if I am able to do any work there as well. :) Cheers from Cape Town (as they say here)!
