Can I Be A Professional Traveler?
I flew all night to arrive in Hobart, Tasmania this morning. I'm very excited to be here as there are lots of opportunities for me to do outdoors activities here. The weather is a bit cloudy but there are spots of sunshine here and there. Tomorrow I start a 5 day tour around Tassie (nickname for Tasmania). I'll be hiking, boating, and exploring this beautiful island. I spent my last day in Perth with the Cowlings- the family who I had Thanksgiving dinner with. I attended a Christmas Carol service where their daughter, Corinne, had a beautiful solo. It was great, and it put me more in the Christmas spirit. They had their own Aussie renditions of "Jingle Bells" and "The Twelve Days of Christmas." It was hilarious.
I'll be in Tassie for 2 weeks. After my tour, I'm hoping to work on another farm in Tassie for about a week before I head back to Melbourne for Christmas. I hear there is the Cadbury chocolate factory here. You all know how I love chocolate. I saw a t-shirt yesterday in Perth that said, "I would be nicer if you gave me chocolate." Hehe. I'll write more after my tour. Hope the holiday season is treating everyone well.
Random Observations:
They use the word tea to refer to dinner. I think that is so weird! How can a drink refer to an entire meal! :)
They use "I reckon" for everything. I feel like I'm in the backhills of Tennessee again. Hehe.
They say how you going which is supposed to mean how are you doing. It was confusing at first.
