Gosh, I'm a little behind on my blogging so the next few entries will be a little shorter as I try to catch up.
Today we had a free day in Cusco. No plans were made for the group and most were hung over from last night as they had a big night out to celebrate the end of the hiking.
It's actually really nice just having time to wander aimlessly around this beautiful city. Betsy and I wandered the streets looking at plaza after plaza and beautiful colonial architecture. There is a quiet ease I find with Cusco, it's laid back, small and manageable in size, plus lots of nice little bars and restaurants, the weather has also been amazing with beautiful blue skies.
We decided to try a massage and for $20 for 1hr, 15 mins we were bought into a small upstairs room with way too many massage beds crammed in and curtains dividing them to try and give some privacy. The owner proudly showed us her certificate of operation ( which when thinking about it later she totally could have made it up on her laptop, we'd have no idea if it was legit or not) Anyway too late to back out now. The massage was actually quite good to be fair (as long as you could block out all the other noises in the room which was a little tricky).
After the massage we decided to return to the Italian restaurant we had eaten at prior to our trek for lunch as the food had been so good. 2 hours later and a few pisco sours ( gosh I love those drinks) heavier we left realizing we had totally missed the chocolate making class we had booked for that afternoon.
In the evening we went out to a British pub for drinks with the group, not too late a night as was back at the hotel by midnight.
