I'm not going to write much today as it was really just a travel day.
I did a quick run in the morning, had a leisurely breakfast then said goodbye to Annemarie (shown in the photo). I've been trying to take pictures with all my hosts.
The drive to Ahwahnee (village nearish Yosemite Park) was long and boring and I started to wonder whether it was worth coming all this way for only 2 nights, oh well I'm doing it now.
I arrived at Carol and Sherman's house around 3pm, they are a lovely retired couple who have been doing Airbnb since last Sept and love meeting people from around the world. I immediately felt at home here and that they were more like relatives than hosts I was paying to stay with. They have three adorable dogs; two Scottie's, Willy and Finnegan and a Dachshund called Roxy.
I decided to take a quick drive around the area and ended up at Bass Lake, a popular spot for water sports and vacations it seemed. Pretty lake in the middle of a pine Forrest although the water level was very low. I had some dinner and returned to the house around 7pm. I sat up talking with Carol and Sherman for a couple of hours about their lives and family, it was a pleasant evening and best part was here I get a double bed and my own bathroom. It's been a while!
