There was intense rain for much of the day and the sun barely broke through at all even when the rain did clear. Thankfully, the B&B had board games and a DVD player.
We went to Knysa in the morning and poked around in a couple of stores. We ended up in a store than basically sold everything (including a supplementary memory card for John's camera). On the ground floor it was all electronics and appliances... and then on the upper floor was everything else - housewares, Christmas decorations, you name it, they had it.
We went back to Plett to rent some DVDs and pick up groceries from the local Spar. The short distance between the video store and the Spar was like running under a waterfall! So much rain!
It let up just before we left the Spar, though, so we only had to dash through the waterfall once.
When we got back to the B&B we quizzed each other using an old South African-version of Trivial Pursuit, drank Rooibos tea and watched Half Nelson and the Squid and the Whale.
We headed back into Knysa for dinner at 34 South (www.34-south.com). It was a little disappointing as the place felt somewhat like a TGIFridays. Although I did have another delicious meal of calamari! I ate lots of good squid this trip.
