Breakfasted with a couple from Victoria at the rap video B&B and then drove from Mossel Bay to Plettenberg Bay (more commonly known as Plett).
Checked into another great B&B (this one had an expansive deck looking over the water) and had a lovely lunch at a place called Cornuti's Then we went to the airport for John to go skydiving.
The skydiving place was very relaxed and there were three dogs to play with - a big one called Zephyr; a jack russell with lots of personality named Smiley; and a border collie obsessed with a ball. We were there for about three hours... most of which I spent basking in the sun.
While waiting for John to go up in the plane we sat outside with a couple of Dutch girls, a couple originally from Yorkshire who now live in Cape Town and an Irish couple on their honeymoon. The Dutch girls went skydiving just before John and the Irish couple went right after. It was rather nice to talk to someone other than John for a while!
John had a great time skydiving... and I felt no regret about staying on the ground!
After John's 30 seconds of free-fall, we went for a bit of a drive and then walked on the beach near the B&B. Plett has some amazing beaches...
We had dinner at an incredible four-star type African restaurant called Nguni's. Tuna carpaccio and bobuti spring rolls to start with fresh-baked bread served in mini-flower pots, seafood soup for John and line-caught fish for me for mains, and chocolate trio for dessert. Capped off with fantastic coffee and mint tea with real mint... and of course, a South African wine to go with the mains.
Certainly one of the best meals we had on the trip...
